Your community can be a safer place when you have a Companion!

A remarkable new program offering a partnership between corporate, educational, and institutional users with local law enforcement agencies is now available to reduce crime in participating communities.  Originally developed for courtroom security, the basic Companion wireless notification device is now available in several different models to meet varying needs. 

In communities where the local police department supports the Companion program, participants can purchase a Companion sending unit (shown above on the right).  The Companion emergency calling unit can be mounted underneath a desk or other discrete location.  Measuring only 6.3" X 5.5" X 4.3", the Companion can be attached by Velcro or attached with screws as desired.  In the event help is required, the user simply pushes the red button.  No other action is required.  Instantly and silently, a coded voice message such as Code 31 at Location 12 is sent directly to the local police dispatcher and/or the patrol vehicle serving your area.

The Companion Community Service Program (CCSP) can be established in any community desiring to provide a higher level of protection for those they serve.  The basic Companion sending unit can be set up on virtually any VHF or UHF frequency used by a public safety agency.  With law enforcement participation and approval, churches, convenience stores, offices, and retail establishments can have the ability to instantly call for help when needed without the necessity to call 911.  CCSP requires a working relationship with your local government officials, but the benefits are well worth the effort.  Once a CCSP program set up in your area, the only requirement by participants is the purchase the Companion sending unit at a cost of only $499.

The Companion sending unit is completely self-contained with no electrical installation required.  Six (6) AA batteries provide up to 12,000 activations before replacement is necessary.  The Companion can be programmed on VHF or UHF local law enforcement frequencies using a standard pulse dial phone available at most retail stores for $20 or less.  The emergency message can be programmed for your specific needs as well.  No special skills are required.  The Companion is simple, effective, and affordable! 

A variation of the basic Companion program is optionally available.  The alternate system is especially well suited for convenience stores and other retailers who operate during the evening hours or 24 hour operation.

Companion II uses a dual function call box with both a pushbutton for counter use as well as a wireless call button for a second employee or for a single employee when working away from the register.  This unit is slightly more expensive ($599 versus $499 for the standard unit).

The Companion II model (alternately known as Quick Talk is also suitable for use by the elderly and/or disabled distress calling to the local fire and rescue service (required participation by local agency). 

  There is no monthly monitoring fee from either standard Companion or Companion II models.  However, battery  replacement and maintenance, if required, is the user’s responsibility.

Both Companion units are available exclusively from Falcon Direct at the address shown below and subject to a user agreement with the participating public safety agency.  In essence, the agreements holds harmless any guaranteed of services or damages resulting from lack of response.  Further, this agreement requires proper training of employees or users to reduce false alarms.

The first false alarm will result in a warning.  The second false alarm will result in a $25 fine, the third will be $50, the third will be $100.  More than three false alarms will result in termination of service (These terms may vary depending of community variances).

The establishment of a Companion Community Service Program (CCSP) is a partnership between participating municipalities and those they serve.  It is worth the effort to get CCSP set up in your community and we'll help you do it.
